| Bridge we passed over to get to campground - Cayoosh Creek |
| There were several one lane bridges like this on the route |
| You get a better idea of how narrow these are when you see a vehicle on them. |
| Lumber operations going on across the highway. |
| This looked like a lot of logs until we saw the lumber operation in Quesnel later in the day. |
| We are on the Sea to Sky Hwy again |
| We stopped at Williams Lake, the motorcycle is brown with dirt |
| We only asked for electric service at the campground in Quesnel, so we were set apart from other campers |
| We took a bike ride in Quesnel, but the trail was blocked in several places where the river had flooded |
The natives tell us the river flooded about a week ago and would be like this until June sometime. They said it happens every year.
| This long log floating in the Fraser River still has the roots attached. |
| The bridge is all lighted supposed to be spectacular looking at night. We didn't want to compete with the cars/trucks on the road at night though. I had enough concerns about our visibility during the rain. They advertise good bike riding in Quesnel, but there is no good access to the trails from the RV park. This park was the closest to town they had available. |
We did some shopping on the way into town. Trying to find a radiator overflow hose, cord to download pictures from David's camera, some food and things. Sales tax is 12%, wow! We ended up with a card reader to download his camera from Staples. We'd tried for a cord at several other places too...got in and out of some tough parking lots during the day. Glad we don't have a towed car or we would have been doing lots of unhooking. A lot of stores and products are the same as at home.
While we were taking in this huge lumber operation, the skies opened up.
The rain didn't stop any of their operations, but we took advantage of their observation tower and waited out the worst of it. We still had a hill to climb on the highway to get back to the campground.
Fortunately it had stopped raining by the time we got back to the mh. Made it much easier to dry things off and pack them away.
They are doing some work at the campground, and they turned our power off an hour ago (at 8:15am, didn't even offer us a refund). Guess it is time to put this away and get dressed for the road.
