Day ONE - 334.2 miles to Reedley

We didn't leave until Monday, but our final preparations were on Sunday.  At Church, Kathy & Chris brought us a fancy shopping bag full of Trader Joe snacks.  Kathy didn't want us to be hungry when traveling :-).
Later in the day our neighbors Tom and Amy came down with three shopping bags full of special treats. They had two bags frozen  stuffed breads (or pastry dough), one bag with a meat filling and the other with cheese.  Plus fresh frozen orange juice, frozen flat in zip lock bags.  There was a stack of them, in easy store and to just right sized portions.  Sunday evening, Sal cooked for us at Mom's. Then packaged up the leftover macaroni, so we wouldn't go hungry.   On Tuesday, Kristen baked the frozen stuffed bread in the oven until the crust was nice and crispy.  What a treat.  Kris & Pete enjoyed them too, and we still have lots for later.  Tuesday night Kristen & Pete had some rare time with Gavin, taking him to an honor student banquet.  Rare that he gets their attention without little kids competing for attention.  We had a nice evening with Olivia and Little Pete (and had Sal's macaroni with left over chicken for dinner).
The motorcycle was loaded up on Sunday, our MH had to spend the night "outside".

Stacy came over, a very NICE SURPRISE.  To show our gratitude, we put her to work.  With her help we were ready to go by 10:30am.
It took a little tugging, but I got David in the MH so the adventure could begin.  We made it to the end of the driveway.  He remembered some drain line he had to fix.  So at 10:40am, we actually hit the road.

We had a fine drive up to Reedley, CA.  There was a dead end street not far from Kristen & Pete's, which got us out of a traffic pattern and yet close enough to walk back and forth easily to their house.

Monday evening, Little Pete had T-ball practice and come to find out Kristen is the coach and Gavin the assistant coach.  We tagged along to watch with Olivia, who enjoyed us being there so she could play on the playground equipment.  Pete stayed home and BBQ'd some delicious chicken for dinner.
